There is no Temporary Residency in Uruguay, you will immediately obtain Permanent Residency. You must stay in the country for 6-12 months (timeframe depending on current application wait times) before obtaining your PR. 

The following documents are needed for the process:

• Passport
• ID-sized photos - recently taken, no less than a year old
• National Police Background check (RCMP or FBI, not province or state level) + Apostille. Also need Police check from any country where you lived for over 180 days during the 5 year period preceding your arrival to Uruguay.
• An Uruguayan vaccination certificate is required. If you already have the required vaccines, a Uruguayan certificate will be issued. Otherwise, you may get the vaccines in Uruguay, and we will assist you with this matter.
• Long form Birth Certificate (issued less than 1 year ago) + Apostille
• Marriage Certificate (and divorce or death certificate if applicable) + Apostille
